The Challenge
Healthcare access shouldn't be complicated. That was the starting point for MediBook — a full stack platform we built to make finding, booking, and consulting with doctors as simple as a few taps.
Patients often struggle to find verified doctors, book appointments efficiently, or access care remotely. Clinics and hospitals, meanwhile, need a reliable system to manage bookings, video consultations, and patient records securely. MediBook needed to solve both sides of this problem in one platform.
What We Built
MediBook is a full stack healthcare booking platform with:
- Real-time appointment scheduling — patients can view doctor availability and book instantly, no back-and-forth calls
- Online video consultations — secure, built-in video calling so patients can consult doctors remotely
- Secure medical record storage — patient history and records stored safely and accessibly
- Doctor and hospital discovery — a searchable directory so patients can find verified providers near them
The Tech Behind It
Built with Python and Django on the backend, MediBook uses REST APIs to connect the booking system, video consultation module, and record storage into one seamless experience. We used PostgreSQL for reliable data handling and deployed on AWS EC2 with Docker for scalability and SSL for security — ensuring the platform can handle real users and real medical data safely.
The Outcome
MediBook now functions as a complete healthcare access point — from search to consultation to follow-up — built to scale as patient and doctor numbers grow.
